Meet the amazing people who make Siculi the success that it is. General Manager Denise Cooper, our fabulous Chef Sara Juarez-Calixto and all of the hardworking people who provide the family style atmosphere here.
Denise Cooper was first introduced to the restaurant industry 30 years ago, in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. After graduating college, she relocated to Naples, Florida where she worked for many seasons as a waitress and bartender, interacting with people from all over the world. Denise relocated to the Delmarva Peninsula in 1996 and continued her restaurant career at Berlin's Atlantic Hotel. In 2006 Denise and her husband owned and operated their own bistro until 2013. Siculi Rustic Italian Kitchen brought her back to Berlin, "America's Coolest Small Town". Denise is currently the General Manager and works hands on with her staff to ensure a great guest experience. When not at Siculi, she is enjoying time with friends and family.
Kitchen Manager & Chef
25 year old, Sara Juarez came to the U.S. from Mexico at the age of 3. Sara always wanted to be a baker until she started working at Siculi and found a new passion in cooking. Sara trained for a year as a sous chef under Executive Chefs, Pete and Jennie Livolsi. When they left Siculi Sara was asked to take over as the executive chef. Over the past year she has added new specials and dishes to the menu, much to the delight of customers.
